چکیده

A simplified theoretical model based on geometrical optics (GO) in combination with physical optics (PO) in its vector form is used to analyze the performance of a homogeneous dielectric-sphere lens fed by a feed horn. The proposed model provides physical insight and sufficient accuracy for the initial design cycle. The computed results are also compared to measured data acquired from a prototype model and the agreement is satisfactory. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A NRD Guide Fed Dielectric Lens Antenna with High Gain and Low Sidelobe Characteristics

Recently, millimeter wave applications are rapidly growing in modern high-speed and broadband wireless systems such as uncompressed HD-TV transmission, home link and radar for the collision prevention. In this paper, a NRD guide [1] fed dielectric lens antenna with high gain and low sidelobe characteristics is proposed for millimeter wave applications. The proposed antenna is designed on the ba...

Elliptic and Hyperbolic Dielectric Lens Antennas in mm-Waves

Dielectric lenses can substantially improve antenna parameters, especially the planarity of radiated waves and the antenna gain. The paper deals with their application in millimeter-wave band. The main goal concerns the introduction of characteristics and differences between the most commonly used types of dielectric lens antennas, i.e. elliptic and hyperbolic. Their particular features as well...

Numerical Modeling and Experimental Study of Probe-Fed Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna (RDRA) Supported by Finite Circular Ground Plane

Dielectric Resonator Antennas (DRAs) have received increased interest in recent years for their potential applications in microwave and millimeter wave communication systems. DRAs are normally used with the support of a ground plane. The radiation and impedance properties therefore depend not only on their physical dimensions and dielectric properties, but also on the size of the ground plane. ...

Superconducting Microstrip-Fed Antenna Coupled to a Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector

A proper antenna to couple to a microstrip Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) is designed and simulated. A twin-slot microstrip-fed inline antenna is designed for frequency band of 600-720~GHz integrated with an elliptical lens and coupled to the MKID. A systematic design procedure for design of such antenna with microstrip inline feeding is presented. Whole structure of lens and twin...

Millimeter-Wave Microstrip Line to Waveguide Transition Fabricated on a Single Layer Dielectric Substrate

The millimeter-wave front-end module for an automotive radar sensor is generally composed of an antenna placed on the front surface of the sensor head and a millimeter-wave circuit inside it. As the antenna for the radar sensor, several types of antennas, a slotted waveguide antenna, a triplate antenna, a dielectric lens antenna, a dielectric leaky wave antenna and a microstrip antenna, have be...
